Photography BLOG have reviewed the new 8 megapixel Ricoh Caplio R7 - an update to the unique Ricoh Caplio R6, the new R7 features a wide-angle 7.1x optical zoom lens, ISO upto 1600, image stabilisation, 1cm macro mode, an (ultra) compact metal body, Face Recognition focus, slim body (20.6mm), a 2.7" screen, updated features include Smooth Imaging Engine III, 8.15 megapixel CCD and new brightness and colour-tone functions. "The increase in resolution from 7 to 8 megapixels doesn't make a lot of difference to your photos, but thankfully the new image processing engine at least ensures that quality remains the same as the R6. The megapixel increase could have resulted in noisier images, but the R7 retains the same usable ISO range of 64-400, with only the fastest setting of ISO 1600 being a complete non-starter."
