Ricoh GX200 ISO Noise Examples...

The Ricoh GX200 features several Noise Reduction options. I thought it would be worth showing the difference in results between having Noise Reduction off, and on. The Automatic mode for ISO levels range from ISO 64 - ISO1600, and manual ISO settings are ISO: 64, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600. The camera also has several options for Noise Reduction (on, on above ISO401, on above ISO801, on ISO1600, or off) - the default setting is for Noise Reduction to be off. Crops are shown below, Noise Reduction Off shown on the left, Noise Reduction switch On shown on the right.

Ricoh R10 Displayed at Photokina

The Ricoh R10 was on display at Photokina, DigiCamReview had a look at the camera - an update to the Ricoh R8 - the camera features a new hand grip, a larger high resolution 3" screen, a new easy mode, a new auto level feature, new function button, and the same specifications as the R8, such as 10 megapixel sensor, 7.1x wide angle zoom, 1cm macro, anti-shake sensor and ISO1600. The camera will be available in the UK from October 2008, in Bronze, Silver and Black for £199 including VAT.

Ricoh R8 Firmware Update v1.25

Ricoh have released an updated firmware for the new Ricoh Caplio R8. The R8 is a 10 megapixel update to the R7 - it features a newly designed body available in black or silver, a wide angle 7.1x optical zoom lens (28 - 200mm equivalent), image stabilisation, ISO 1600, 2.7" screen with 460k pixels, and a 1cm macro mode. The camera is available in Silver, Two-tone Silver and Black or Black for £158:

Ricoh R10 Announced (Japan Only)

Ricoh.co.jp have quietly announced the new Ricoh R10 - an update to the Ricoh R8 - the camera features a new hand grip, a larger high resolution 3" screen, a new easy mode, a new auto level feature, new function button, and the same specifications as the R8, such as 10 megapixel sensor, 7.1x wide angle zoom, 1cm macro, anti-shake sensor and ISO1600. The camera is available in Japan only, in Bronze, Silver and Black.
